바텀플레이트는 프리다이버의 안전에 꼭 필요한 장비로
프리다이버의 목표한 하강지점에 위치하여
그 지점 이하로 내려갈수 없도록 하여 안전장비로 가장 중요하며
하강라인 하단에 설치되어 랜야드 사용시 맑은 소리로 원하는 목표지점에 도착을 알려 주는 장치이다
또한 랜야드와 라인의 엉킴을 방지하는 역활로 사용된다
